Reading & Book Signing
In Cat Warren's What the Dog Knows, history, science, and memoir merge in an engrossing look into the lives of working dogs and the humans by their sides. Through stories of her dog and others, Warren paints a picture of the fascinating work of cadaver dogs, drug- and bomb-detecting K9s, and other scent detection dogs. What makes their stories even more fascinating is Warren's in-depth journey into the science and psychology behind the dogs' abilities through interviews with animal psychologists, forensic anthropologists, and scent researchers, as well as the breeders, trainers, and handlers who work with the dogs daily. Joining us for a reading and signing of the book, Warren will share her absorbing portrait of the talented animals with us.
Cat Warren is an associate professor at North Carolina State University, where she teaches science journalism, editing, and reporting courses. She lives with her husband and her German shepherds, Solo and Coda, in Durham, North Carolina. Visit CatWarren.com.
