The Brandon Roy Story

What Seattle basketball fan doesn't love Brandon Roy? From Seattle's Garfield High to the University of Washington, he played hard, respected the game, and was a family man. And he could flat out play. In 2011, injuries forced a very early retirement from professional basketball on him—though new medical treatments have allowed him a comeback—but his story is still worth telling, and journalist Dan Raley has done it.

Dan Raley Dan Raley began his journalism career as sports editor of the Fairbanks (Alaska) Daily News-Miner before returning to his home town where he worked for 29 years as a sports writer at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer until the newspaper's demise. Then he worked as an editor for two years at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution before returning home again, where he now works as an editor at MSN.com.
