What Seattle basketball fan doesn't love Brandon Roy? From Seattle's Garfield High to the University of Washington, he played hard, respected the game, and was a family man. And he could flat out play. In 2011, injuries forced a very early retirement from professional basketball on himthough new medical treatments have allowed him a comebackbut his story is still worth telling, and journalist Dan Raley has done it.
Dan Raley began his journalism career as sports editor of the Fairbanks (Alaska) Daily News-Miner before returning to his home town where he worked for 29 years as a sports writer at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer until the newspaper's demise. Then he worked as an editor for two years at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution before returning home again, where he now works as an editor at MSN.com.
