Livia Blackburne, Martha Brockenbrough, Janet Lee Carey, Sara Wilson Etienne, & Lish McBride Livia Blackburne has a PhD in neuroscience from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she conducted research on the neural correlates of reading. She still blogs on the intersection of writing and brain science, and she now lives in Los Angeles with her husband. Livia is also the author of Midnight Thief, an Indies Introduce New Voices selection.

Martha Brockenbrough has worked as a newspaper reporter, a high school teacher, and as editor of MSN.com, and is the author of DEVINE INTERVENTION and THE DINOSAUR TOOTH FAIRY. She is a devoted grammarian, and founded National Grammar Day and the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar (SPOGG). Martha is also the social media diva for readergirlz, the nonprofit literacy organization that received the Innovations in Reading Award from the National Book Foundation. She lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband and their two daughters.

Janet Lee Carey was born in New York and grew up in California. She is the award-winning author of several young adult novels, most notably her epic fantasy novels set on Wilde Island—Dragon's Keep, Dragonswood, and the upcoming In the Time of Dragon Moon. Janet lives near Seattle with her family where she writes and teaches writing workshops.

Sara Wilson Etienne went to college in Maine to become a marine biologist...but when her research transformed itself into a novel, she realized that she loved fantasy more than fact. So she gave into it and wrote Harbinger. She now lives in Seattle, WA with her husband and two dogs. Her second novel, Unworthy comes out June 2016.

Lish McBride is an author, bookseller, and all-around ne'er-do-well living in the Seattle area. She has an MFA from the University of New Orleans, which she is sure they'd like to take back. The poor people stuck with her include her long-suffering Man Friend, her son, and her furry legion, which number many. (Well, three.) When she isn't working, which is most of the time, and reading, which is the rest of the time, you can probably find her whining on Twitter about how she needs a nap.
