A Christmas Memory

First published in 1956, Truman Capote's autobiographical tale of Christmas memories tells the story of an enduring friendship between a young boy, his elderly cousin, and the beloved holiday rituals they share. From buying illegally made whiskey for their fruitcakes to cutting down their own tree and decorating it with homemade ornaments, the joy of shared traditions and holiday cheer fills the story's pages. As part of our own holiday celebration, we invite you to share in one of our favorite annual traditions and join us for cookies, cider, and a reading of Capote's heartwarming "A Christmas Memory" by our used book buyer Bradley Craft.

No Image Available TRUMAN CAPOTE was born in 1924 and died in 1984. Based on his own boyhood in rural Alabama in the 1930s, A Christmas Memory was orginally published in Mademoiselle in 1956 and later was included in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
